Networking Tips
Back to News
Accept that networking is the most effective and cost effective way to build your personal brand as well as your business.
- Plan your networking strategy - get a copy of the guest list at functions and plan who you want to meet.
- Be up to date with current events - read industry newsletters, business dailies and management journals
- Have an interesting joke or story to tell to break the ice.
- In order to create a good first impression you need: preparation, confidence and business cards. It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who attend conferences or networking events with no business cards. Business cards are a vital part of your networking toolkit!
- The better prepared you are for networking events, the more confident you’ll feel and the more the fruitful the contacts you will make.
- Think about what message you want to convey through your body language and adapt your dress code accordingly.
