The Referral of a Lifetime by Tim Templeton

This is one of the most powerful networking books for Entrepreneurs. I’ve either bought it or recommended it to my entire network. Entrepreneurs often get so caught up in trying to find new business when we don’t tap into our existing relationships. How would you like to have a virtual sales team that goes out selling your services at no cost to you? This book explains exactly how to achieve this by systematising word of mouth marketing into a very simple but extremely powerful system. Make the Network work!

Masters of Networking by Ivan R Misner & Don Morgan

This was one of the first books I ever bought on Networking and really opened my eyes to the power of Networking when unleashed strategically. The authors have included interviews with 30 different Networking experts on subjects as diverse as: The Laws of Giving by Deepak Chopra to “How to meet rich people.” Misner was involved in the establishment of BNI (Business Network International) is a very established Networking system both overseas and in South Africa, so he has some powerful lessons to share. This book also includes great case studies of developing successful network strategies and the how to of networking. I find that so often people know the importance of networking in building their career but they don’t know how to do it effectively. This book will give you the Network Black Belt secrets.

Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi

I bought this book in the States earlier this year after it was recommended at a Networking workshop I attended. This book shows you how to add to your personal bottom line with better networks and bigger relationships. I enjoyed Keith’s anecdotal style which includes his career and networking journey, including the highs and lows. Keith Ferrazzi’s networking style is more aggressive than mine but that’s not to say there isn’t a huge amount of very powerful Networking skills in this book. He has an amazing ability to show how to turn a conference, a meeting or a casual contact into an extraordinary opportunity for mutual success.
